HKS Carbon Ti
HKS Carbon Ti
I was contemplating getting the HKS Carbon Ti exhaust SS downpipe and yes i realize its been done to death by now but ive heard one and it sounds and looks sweet plus being lightweight helps my motivation.
I wanted to know if the catback and dp bolt right on without any modification from stock? Also, what sort of hp gains have peopel gotten with the set up or know of? And is getting a high flow cat worth it? What is te best high flow cat to get to connect with my setup without any problems of fitment?
What are the prices people have seen or paid for their HKS catback and dp and from where? Boost solutions seems to have good prices but where else? thanks

it bolts on to stock cat no problem. Sounds good, not too loud at idle. But at WOT.... Haven't dynoed it yet. The exhuast looks damn good, but its not that light weight, compared to other titanium exhaust. The carbon fiber is wrapped around the steel canister so its not saving much weight.

evodave, pm'd you reagarding the custom heads and tails in your profile. I may hold off on the exhaust since it may already be taken and i couldnt do it for another month or so, but pm me about lights.
i have it and it hooks up to the stock cat fine and sounds pretty good in my opinion... i don't know about the downpipe or the highflow cat though... i bought mine from Z1 auto for around ~750$

isn't the hks piping like 1 mm off from 3"? is it going to make that much of a difference?

thing you guys should all know about the hks exhaust. it's not ti piping only the canister is ti and carbon fiber. the weight savings is therefore only from the canister. yeah and as someone already pointed it it's not 3" piping. i guess you can always get 3" ti piping yourself if you want, but there's other full ti kits out there.

anyone know about or at least heard about the quality of the piping? it's the system i want, but not if most of it's going to go to crap after awhile.
HKS stuff is very high quality. My exhaust and downpipe bolted on perfectly like OEM with zero fitment problems. The welds are top notch and it's one of the best sounding exhausts out there.
I don't think the weight savings justifies the extra money for the TI. I bought the Hi-Power catback and downpipe from Boost Solutions and got a great price and very fast delivery.

PM if you need some pricing on a RnR/HKS carbon/ti set up from us. We use all 304 SS lightweight mandrel piping. We also offer huge discounts over the HKS systems. We just got some mufflers in so they will be going out next week.
i have the HKS carbon Ti and HKS SS DP..its a great looking exhaust..sound is mean and not to loud at idle..but WOT, its a monster! Power gains are defintely noticeable! you get what you pay for..
