25-30hp shot of nos on evo?

I was thinking that a 25-30 shot of nos on an evo wouldn't be a bad thing. I'm mostly stock, just a cat delete pipe on an otherwise stock car. Would a 25 shot of dry work on my car without blowing it up?

that's a small kit, but in general I view dry systems as evil incarnate. fueling is a guess at best.

I'd always use a wet kit with proper rrfpr or even better, an ecu that knows it is there and adds fuel.

I have been using a 100hp wet nos single fogger on a dsm for this season with no trouble yet. The shortblock/headgasket are better on the evo. I think up to 75 shot on a stock engine&turbo evo should be very safe.

My talon makes similar power as the evo with the nitrous off. (about 250whp). That 100hp nitrous shot took my talon from 12.3 @ 109 to 11.44 @ 118. It's the best bang/buck you can do for sure.

I woudn't do it without a fuel pump that you know can support the total power of the nitrous hit and what the engine makes alone. Clutch is key here too, as the nitrous system will make a huge torque increase.

Dry kit on a turbo car is a no-no in general. your fuel pump has to work with a base pressure of ~40psi + 20psi increase from boost. your at 60 psi already, then a dry kit would try bumping up the fuel pressure even more. At really high fuel pressure, injectors don't work right and the fuel pump is less efficient. Your really really better off with a wet fogger kit.

3 Tips, do the basics first:
1) Open up your intake and exhaust
2) Add a MBC and get tuned
3) Add ARP headstuds and a Walbro pump

Once you do that, I say go for a 50 shot minimum.

50 shot will be fine on an EVO. i would as metaphysical has said and do the usual mods first as you will get these gains all the time. then the N2O. how are you planning on running the shot? as a manual on and off or are you going to rig up a nice electric control so you can kill lag and have a very low spool up (say have the kit coming in at 2.5k and then tapper off at say 6K).

anyway, hope it all goes to plan and all the best.

thanks Chris.

I run the nitrous kits through two switches. a standard on-off "arming" switch on the dash and through a wide open throttel switch that works off the throttle body linkage. extremely simple. system comes on at wot and runs untill you let off. NOS kits come with the switches and wiring schematics too hook it up that way.

I woudn't bother with a "spoolup" kit that shuts off at a certain boost level, as it won't do anthing for your 1/4mile times. It's completely safe to run the 50 shot all the way to redline.
