Titanium Strut Tower Bars

what person buys these things? the cheapest i've seen them is $380 for the front upper.. i can understand the thicker, the stiffer but come on.... they make a rear upper tower bar thats $675!!! i want to know what person, and what company can justify buying these products over ANY other steel or aluminum sway/strut bar..

maybe if you were out there making cash instead of making threads like this you wouldn't be complaining about the price!!

j/p man. i dont' know the point either. i guess it's stiffer? i'd imagine it's only for serious serious serious racers that would feel the difference between a spoiler that was one centimeter higher or lower?? who knows.

these companies stay in business somehow, right?

Have you picked one up? I bought one and it weighs about 4lbs less than the stocker. Worth every penny.

it's 10 times more stronger than aluminum and it's lighter than aluminum. So that's what you pay for.

Also titanium is hard to work on, hard to cut and it's hard to weld. There is another labor.

I think it's a waste of money. I would rather buy a CF one. it's about the same strength and it just looks lot better and it's light too.

see i have a stock sway bar.. so that front upper is pointless to put in unless your looking to save weight in an extreme way.. and if your that extreme about saving weight, then you shouldn't have bought that CF shield and taken off your spark plug wire cover and cam gear cover... i can understand aluminum sway bars, i'll end up buying all the ones from Cusco, but come on, i would rather spend the money on intercooler pipes (which you could have purchased instead of another redundant product)..

Jadiem - to many, they simply like the looks, to others, it is part of a weight savings plan they have in mind....if you are on teh extreme end of things, 3-4 here and there adds up over time

As for the price, yes it is is quite expensive...and the Cusco ones are about the least expensive ones out there. The reason is twofold - very expensive raw materials and very expensive labor.

A good cat back for the Evo costs $500- $600, Ti ones are often 1.5-2 times that. Some very good quality wheels can be had for $1200, Volks cost nearly to upwards of two times that. Advans are cast wheels, and they cost almost as much as Volks.....

you can go on and on quite frankly. Part of what you pay is the product itself, part is the name...just like everything else in life that we buy!

Oh and we have tons in stock (they are pretty good sellers) for $365 shipped.....

Z1 i like your little plug at the end
do you guys carry Cusco?

i also have a titanium catback and titanium dp from HKS and i would vote that either one of those parts are a little bit higher on the "to-do" list than a bar

Mine was part weight savings and part looks. I guess you could say that I should take the cam gear cover off, but my car already weighs 3020lbs It was taking 4 lbs off of the front of the car without losing the front strut bar. The CF rad shroub weighs a few ounces. Same thing for the other plastic pieces that I feel serve a purpose. i am not taking a functional part off to lose weight, but if I can get a lighter one, i will replace them. It's that simple.

3020 thats pretty light for a normal evo. how did you manage to shed 300 lbs? just CF parts? or did you pull out major stuff?

It's not stripped at all. i just replaced most stuff with lighter parts. Ex: Coliovers exhaust, etc. It still has all the seats and power options. It was only 3240 before, so I actually only stripped 220lbs.

Jadiem - we are the largest authorized Cusco retailer in the US actually

In terms of the Evo bits, nearly everything they offer is in stock - so if you need something, let me know

HKS does not offer a ti exhaust or downpipe for the Evo.....HKS Kansai does offer a Ti cat back though

if you'd rather get intercooler piping, you should rather get ti intercooler piping , all hardcore tuners in japan offer them. should look into bozz speed.

I like the Ti strut bars but price is just too high. Plus the stock bar is stiffer and stronger than the Ti bar.
