Without a boost controller, stock boost peaks at 19 PSI and tapers to 16 PSI at redline...

What boost gauge you running? I have heard of quite a few boost gauges that where operating improperly.

Is your boost gauge reading right?

A lot of gauges are not calibrated correctly. try a different gauge assuming your install is not leaking.

if 17.8 psi is your peak boost than yes you are alittle low on boost. Stock boost should peak at around 19psi then tapper down to 16psi.

What kind of boost gauge do you have?

don't forget your boost solenoid reads before the IC and pipes... you TT is most likely reading off the manifold... so you will have some pressure drop to calculate for; i would believe 17.8 psi is stock and fine... the 19/16.24 psi's are what the boost solenoid opperate at and are taken prior to the IC, as just stated...

Is 1.23 the highest you saw? It does sound a little low. My blitz usually shows 1.33-.35 and has shown 1.38 before.

are u stock or do u ahve bolt ons? also when looking at boost you should only be concidering holding psi not spikes plus with colder weather you will see higher boost levels and if your running 91 octane theres another problem... theres many factors that will affect boost specially on MAP sensor cars

91 octane

Mostly stock (for the next 5 days )

I agree - my numbers were peak numbers, not consistent. I thought his concern was peaking at 1.2 (trying to compare apples to apples). I think the mid to high 1.2s is normal for a consistent reading.

My buddy has an Autometer boost gauge in his stock Sti and it reads 20 psi.

Now we all know that Sti's can't boost over 16.5 without some fuel controller or larger injectors.

I guess the gauge is wrong.
