Shop and mod time!! (when will it stop!)
Sup Everyone,
I just want to know how long you've been without you evo including shop time, dealer time, mod time, down time, or whatever.
For example:
I've taken my evo to the dealership 3 times for my brakes costing me 3 days, 1 time at the dealer for brake cylinder 3 days, mod time 3 days, at turbo trix right now while I'm getting my transfer case fixed by TRE 2.5 weeks and counting. I still didn't include oil changes and stuff like that (BTW I've had my car for 1 year 1 month).
So basically I've been without my evo for about a month or over. This REALLY pisses me off cuz its the summer now and I kinda wanna drive. I want to see if other Evo others are having this problem.
PS:Mods if this is supposed to be in Evo General please move thanks.

In the middle of May I took my Evo to the local Trans. shop to have my new Cusco Clutch install. Well the guy did not have a clue about an Evo, it took 2 1/2 weeks to get it out of the shop.
Then I drove the car approximately 80 miles and the Transfer case went out.
(I THINK THEY PUT THE WRONG FLUID IN / OR NOT ENOUGH)
because there was nothing wrong with my Transfercase when it went in grrrrrrr... Just can not prove it.
Anyways, I had to order a new Transfercase from Japan the RS limit slip TR. that took about 2 weeks to get. Then I made an appointment to get the new Transfercase install, had to wait about 1 week to get it in the shop.
So I was down from Middle of May till the end of June, approximaletly 6 weeks.

Treat it like a race car and expect things to fail. Old saying you gotta pay to play and I expect down time as part of owning such a high performance machine that gets abused on a regular basis. I am just suprised that my car has held up so well to the abuse that I have thrown at it. Yes it has been down more than any of the above posts. Stock Clutch trying to learn how to launch lasted 2700 miles(my fault) Clutch masters stage 3 clutch not up to the task either and had a tendency to slip under heavy footed driving. Cusco twin disk goes in = more down time. Hose blows off and I do the smart thing and call a tow truck because the clamp was missing. Guy hooks it to a weak part of the car and boom the whole front end gets smashed into the front of the cage in the back of the tow truck. Still pissed about the paint chips that are caused by the wind and the a-holes that 100% guaranteed their work will not redo the faulty paint. Says that the 100+ chips are from rocks and i must drive it in areas where trucks kick up rocks or something.Hell he delivered the car with 3 chips in it on a 5 mile drive. Mitsu had tranny specialist that wanted to use my car to put new synchros in it for future car in an effort to bullet proof future trannys. Did not seem to think my tranny needed synchros and told me it was normal. One month later the syncros are worse and Mitsu Rep drives it and at low rpm 4th gear grinds. Finally they redo my synchros. There is more but I do not want to cry about it and for the most part my car sits with a cover on it anyways. It sat for a month until about two weeks ago due to minor maintenace that needed to be performed.(brakes, exhaust leak, plugs and a couple other things). I love this car but it is alot like a good looking woman=high maintenance.
