rebuilt the cam caps, squared, ground, and handd lapped each cap flat, spot faced the top purcahse area where the bolt head sits so that is parallell with the foot (Notice the area of %100 surface contact under the bolt head flange), set up and milled the top of the head in the cam saddle and valve cover flange true with the deck surface. Deburred all the edges, installed new locating dowels and ran throught the cam bearing housings with a hone to bring the housing bores all in line and to equal size.

Equates to a squared head dimensionally, significantly reduced drag and friction on camshaft journals, and consistent oil clearance yeilding better oil distribution and pressure in the head.

Also the head stud purchase areas were spot faces parallel with the deck so that you get %100 force from the fastener, just like with the cam caps being trued.

When you install the cams after this is done, and turn them, they feel like they are riding on ball bearings, they will coast after you spin them by hand.
