Help! Boost Gauge Install Question.

I am in the process of installing a Greddy electronic boost gauge in my evo and have a couple of quick questions. There are four wires (black, white, orange and red) coming from the gauge's wiring harness that need to be tapped into the car's wiring and I am wondering where you guys tapped into (fuse panel, ecu wiring harness, etc). What are the orange and red wires for? Please help. Thanks in advance for your help.

The manual tells you what each wire is for, I can't remember off the top of my head what each one was. As for the wiring, you can get at it all from under the driver's side dash.

I have the manual and it says what the wires are, but my real question is where to tap them into. Should i tap into the fuse panel? If so, I am not exactly sure how to do that. Or should I tap them into the factory wiring harness like I did for my turbo timer? Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't know what wire goes to what but for 12V power get one of these little chingaderas from your local parts house. They work great.

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=071-580

Use blank cabin fuse box circuit number 10. It supplies switched 12V. Turns on and off with the key. Use the add-a-circuit for positive, and run the ground to chassis. Just remember to put two fuses in the add-a-circuit, or it won't make a circuit. If you pull out the little change drawer there's a diagram and a set of fuse pliers.

I tapped all the power into and around the cigarette lighter. Check out instructions for shifter bushings installation, it tells you how to take apart the armrest/console. It's fairly easy. I routed sensor wire through the grommet in the firewall under the glove box. Have fun...

I am mounting it on the steering column. As a result the harness supplied may not be long enough to reach the cigarette lighter wiring. The harness is only about 18" long. The manual identifies the four wires as the following:

Red Wire = 12 v Power: cigarette lighter or ?

Orange Wire = Ignition Line: ?

White Wire = Parking Light Line: ?

Black Wire = Ground Line: chassis

Where can I find a supply for the ignition and parking light lines? Directly from the fuse panel? How do I connect the harness wires to the fuse panel (w/o using the little adapter thing donutmonkey mentioned - parts store near me does not have them)?

I figured it's better to ask a lot of dumb questions than to screw something up.

Thanks (again) in advance guys.

use the dimmer wires. tap into the green wire. it's easy and if you open the bottom part of the dash, there should be a little screw on the left side for all your grounding needs.

Here's another option of where to tap into, I know the how-to is for the control unit but I'm going to post the link as an FYI. The dimmer is probably the best and easiest location to tap for a steering wheel mounted guage.
