ATTN: Darkhorse!!

Darkhorse: You and I need to talk...seriously...My father owns a HUGE Tool&Die shop with all the latest machines (5-axis CNC mill, plasma cutters, etc) if you actually made up AutoCad drawings, they could easily be xferred into CNC data and these parts could be semi-mass-produced... PM ME DUDE!

Is that just because you had the stock on hand? I mean, you wouldn't spec that material for an application like this, right?

Thanks!

No, the base and top plate are 6061 aluminum, the posts on the side are 7075 bar stock. I was originally going to use 6061 for the posts, but I had some spare 7075 bar here from a previous job, which more closely matched the diameter I needed. The raw material (6061) was specd for the job htough, it machines easily, has good tensile strength, and isnt very outragoeusly priced.

Is this for an Evo, if so why such a large battery? I definetly think a box like this for underhood would be very nice for the mini-batterys.

I could make one like this for the small batteries under the hood, but this battery is being mounted in the trunk.

I would have to see the battery your talking about, but I could do it if you wanted.

I think the message is clear. Folks want one for the mini battery. You are one of the most talented metal workers I've seen, and I think you have a winner here. Like most artisit though you probably dont want your work mass produced.
