You may have dinged a couple valves.

Broken rockers...ok

What cams, and what spring package do you have installed.

It sounds like you have more cam lift than the springs can handle, causing the springs to bind, when this happens, something has to give.

The springs should be more then adequate for those cams. Is it possible the rockers weren't seated properly?

Did you bleed your lifters before putting it back together?

The cams are 11mm lift, and the duals are rated for 12.5mm lift, so that should be good, unless the were installed with an extra .060 spring shim.

Ya. I bled all the lifters. Not sure about shims. Just installed what was there. There were some rubber type washers on the bottom

Did you leave the factory spring seats in place, and stack the Ferrea seats on top?

No they should be a shim, about .040 thick, looks like a bolt washer sorts.

Rubber spring seat????? The valve stem seal has a bit of rubber. You should have what is called a metal clad style. The part of the seal on the guide is metal, then rubber surrounds the valve stem.

There is a Top hat style, it is a metal clad seal with the spring seat made on to it. (3.1 GM V6 uses this style, so does the 420A Chrysler/Mitsu)
