What else needed with Boost Control?
Im looking at getting a boost controller in the future, but I dont know what else I need for monetering and managment?
Im guessing I need a boost gauge, that is coming 1st......but do I need a S-AFC? Or should I have one to play it safe?
Also I dont care what other functions the BC has, I just want one that controlls boost, without having to change it due to weather, what one is the simpelist?
Im sorry, I understand these are very noob questions, but I kinda need to know

I huess no one wants to help me with my dumb question.... well I think im gona stick with the GReddy Profec B Boost Controller -Spec 2 as my boost controller. It seems it only does one thing and is easyer to use, concitering I lack alot of tuning ability
No, just a boost gauge as long as you don't run above 20 PSI on pump gas.
I heard of many problems with the Greddy. I don't know. Heard HKS is the best electronic controller.
Why not consider a manual controller. Much cheaper and I hardy touch it once it's set and very easy to install.
If you are not comfortable with tuning a SAFC, look into a reflash to tie in your mods and have them make the most HP for you.

Exhaust, downpipe, intake, turbo timer are all highly recommended by myself. AFC is only needed if you plan on running more boost then the stock ECU can handle or if you care to lean out the already rich settings. Mostly higher octane is all you will need up to 20psi. But leaning the fuel out will yeild a very nice gain
Well the thing is with where I live, we have alot of weather flucuations. Expecially right now. The temp starts at 80 goes to 109 then back down at night, not to mention the change in humitity. I was told that weather had alot to do with a MBC and I didnt want to adjust it alot, if ever.
Now if my condisions wont matter and it will hold boost without having to adjust it, then ill take the cheeper one.
Also after reading about th GReddy boost controler, there seems to be alot for sale do they work ok?

I live in vegas with almost the same weather. 75 at night and 100 in the day. I do boost lower during the day and higher when it's cooler. I have it set to not spike over 20 with the cooler weather and it boosts to 18 in the heat if I don't turn it up. I don't care since the 100 degrees slows the car down anyway and I don't feel comfortable full boosting in the high heat.
As the summer ends, I will be making fine adjustments to it. Not a big deal since I'm always tinkering under the hood.
For the most part, once you set a manual, it only needs slight adjustments and Hallman makes an in cabin manual controller kit so it's the best of both.

Yet for 100 bucks more I can just program something and it will keep the boost exactly where I want it, without my having to fiddle with it and mess something up correct?
Ok, say I get the MBC with the in cab kit...do I turn it to a little # that says 19...or turn it low and slowly turn up till the gauge reads 19 constant....or find a shop and have them tune it to 19.
I will go to a shop and have a complete tune after I get the rest of my mods

There is no number calibration on the MBC. Just turn it to the right for more boost or left for less. You watch your gauge and adjust the MBC after each pull until you get your target PSI.
You can have a MBC w/o a fuel computer or flash. You are just preventing the boost from falling like it does stock. But for added safety, get a reflash or fuel tuning so you have enough fuel up top when at full boost.
The fuel pump is a good idea but not nessessary with very few bolt-on mods. If you do get a pump, do not install it until you have some way of tuning out the extra fuel or a reflash because you will run rich up top and lose power. My car ran like crap when I put the pump in until I was tuned. Felt like my car was drowning in fuel.
