Steering Shaft problems Please look at picture............!!!

Ok i have been having a major run around with dealers messing up my car lately... anyway i have noticed a major pull to the right and alot of slop in the steering..... After further inspection i noticed that it had 2 5/16's hose clamps "note not metric which means not stock" and this was the location of the steering slop..... i have a picture if someone else could please snap a picture and let me know what its supposed to look like.......

ok thats it.... this is the last ****ing time i take my car to the ****ing dealer... If i find out which dealer did this thats their ***..... its one of 2 but anyway i havent had anything done but a clutch install.... tell me... how the **** do u have to uninstall that for a clutch job???? Also the steering column was loose enough i could move it side to side with little effort..... going around curves and **** the steering column would move..... dealers can suck my ***!!!! i swear they take and void warranties for our adding of parts but it seems to me their mechanics cause more damage than we ever have with modding our cars....

funny thing is, last week my steering column started to shift left and right whenever I was made a turn. Eventually the tilt function stopped working and the wheel wouldn't stay locked in place. So i took it to the dealer and the mechanic tells me that the steering column was broken and I had to replace the assembly which costs 475 dollars. I smelled BS the minute he opened his mouth and left the stealership promptly. I drove to Road Race and had my good friend Rob Tallini look at it for me. Apparently the steering column slid off the brackets that held it in place. It took only 10 minutes to readjust the brackets and retighten the 10mm bolts that holds them in place. Broken steering column my ***. Thats the last time I take my car to any dealership for anything. Why the hell would Mitsubishi not weld the brackets instead of using 10mm bolts? Isn't that a safety issue?

They usually drop the steering rack when they do the clutch so that person is probally the one who did it.

why would a shop drop the steering columb to do a clutch isntsall?
if your steering wheel moves from side to side
you better get that **** looked at IMEDIATLY
that happend in my lancer back in the day and after about 3 days the whole steering columb fell off like compleatly the wheel was sitting in my lap

mitsu contacted me a whole bunch of times after that happend concerned with defective parts and recals and what not

Per the Evo service manual it states you have to remove the steering rack and front cradle for a clutch install. Many people on here have figured out how to do it w/o having to drop this.

some people changed there front sway bars too which requires this to be removed just for the front sway bar to be replaced. This is how I did my clutch and front sway bar install. Now the dumbest thing I think they mention you have to remove is the steering wheel and clock spring when you do the clutch.
