Bolt On Mod Listings (No Tuning) - help!

Did some searching, and couldn't find anything like a list so....

How about a list of easy power-increasing bolt-on mods you can do without the need for tuning. For those of us not ready to invest in engine management or a stand-alone (AMS EMS, Xede, UTEC, etc), what can we bolt on?? Please, no bling, just those with results (no 10hp stickers plz)

Running list....

ECU Flash (X-Flash, WORKS, Dynoflash, Turbotrix)
AMS Lower Intercooler Piping
Upgraded FMIC
Exhaust (cat-delete, HF cat, muffler delete, cat-back, downpipe, turboback)
Intake setup
K&N panel Filter
MBC
Forged Diverter Valve
Exhuast Manifold
Intake Manifold
Grounding kit
Weight reduction (lighter wheels)
02 Housing
Throttle Body (WORKS)

If you want your car to run RIGHT with almost ANY mods, you will need tuning.

If you want to keep it simple for now, I would get an AEM EMS tuned by TurboTrix. On an otherwise completely stock EVO they can get 300+ AWHP. That is for way less money than all those parts will cost you. Plus, with all those parts and no tuning you won't be making as much power either. Then when you get more parts, you can easily tune for them.

Thanks for the tip, but I think you completely missed the point of this thread. I know AMS stuff is awesome, but I'm looking to create a list of bolt-on type of mods as mentioned above that can be had cheaply.

AMS stuff?

And BTW, if you want to mod the car without tuning it, I would start with the stereo.

Thanks, you've been so helpful...
Check my sig, I have some AMS stuff on my car. I just don't feel ready to upgrade to a full standalone - trying to help others here.

Hungbee112, I added to the original post - rock on!

Dynoflash already is listed under ECU Flashes.
Don't you have to tune an SAFC??

Whatever, dude. I just don't agree with your half-*** approach. Carry on then, wiseman!

It's not half-assed. It's called some of us are on a budget. Some of us don't want to tune our cars, we don't want to spend time on the dyno every few weeks to extract another 20hp.

A lot of people do - hey that's great. No problems there.

I've safely modded my car from 271, to near 350hp without complex tuning and wanted to share with others and solicit even more ideas.

Hey EVOTEXAS, what in **** would you need to retune after putting an exhaust on? With the car running so rich from the factory, most bolt ons (minus boost control) can't hurt the engine.

Avoiding hurting the motor is only half of what is involved in tuning. Therefore, your comment is also halfassed.

Besides, your comment also shows that it is more important, more beneficial to mileage, longevity, power, etc. to tune even the stock EVO since it runs "so pig rich from the factory."

I think the point EvoTexas is trying to get across is that alot of the power available in the Evo needs to be extracted through changes in engine management.

The reflashes you list are great as long as the parts you have installed closely match the parts used by the vendor when they tuned the reflash. If you follow that logic, then any of the Vishnu stages (including the ones that use the XEDE) and BR stages (that come with pre-defined settings) would also be valid "bolt-on" upgrades.

If you already are using a (bolt-on) stage approach, custom tuning can provide even more power for a relatively minor additional cost. Of course that assumes you are using a user tunable solution (XEDE, etc.) and not a reflash.

I am just running a EBC (SBC-id) and a full 3 inch right now. I am running 20 PSi...wich tapers down to around 18 at redline because the turbo runs out of breath. I need my PE1820 back that I had on the WRX!

Anyway, the car is running strong as an OX! BTW, she is catless...next mods are installing my Helix O2 housing, and my Walbro fuel pump, and HKS RS intake. Then I am going to have Al do his magic on a TTM dynoflash. That should put me at 300WHP on the 93 octane available here.
