Sounds to me like the clutch is slipping.

Mine did the same thing. It is definately the clutch. I went with the ACT and driving with it has been great.

Yeh my evo is doing that right now w/only 10,000miles on it...so the dealership is going to look at it and prolly to tell me to go f!&* myself and then i'll buy a twin plate clutch...sooo...how much is a good twin plate clutch???and how long should it last...saying that I would race the car maybe about once every two months...

You are going to spend at least $1200 for a twin disk clutch. Add another $350-$500 to install.

Sport Compact Car installed an Exedy twin disk in their project Evo and claimed they could launch all day with the sucker without it breathing heavy, plus it was extremely daily-driver friendly.

I've done 10 autocross events this year alone, and expect an Exedy twin disk to appear in my future at some point.

The cost probably depends on who does it and what type of clutch is involved in the install. Use LateSleeper's figure of $350 - $500 as a guide. That sounds reasonable.

ACT all the way. Less than half the cost of twin disk clutch. I just put mine in this week. So far I love it.

But that's not comparing apples to apples. A twindisk will always be better les some high pressure plate carbon singledisks.
