You have no patience then go and by AMG because every after market part requires patience and attention. I dont want to spam his thread so lets get back on topic here.

Then why did you have to post something like that? Take your own advice. I am just saying that I wouldn't put up with constant mistakes and problems like that. He spent THOUSANDS of dollars and the quality control is pretty bad and he has constantly run into problems with the kit not to mention it did not fit right and he had to modify parts. Which made me believe that it was rushed to get on the market, which many (Not saying thiss shop) shops do to get a pounce on the market.

I am just impatient on this cuz back when I had my DSM I ate a lot of Shet from a company that manufactured turbos and promised the world, then kits failed miserably, spooled slower by 2000RPMS, the barings failed, and part after part kept failing or not fitting and then they closed shop. As a customer who is about to spend thousands of dollars on a kit, I am expecting the best, a no BS kit, and I bet if you read the description, it would say that everything bolts up perfectly, I expect a certain quality control, there is nothng wrong with expecting a part to work as advertised the 1st time, and come with all the parts, not to mention all the right parts. I know that this series is a good line, I am just very surprised by this customer service, that is all. They did stand behind their product and supported him andn thats better then other shops. But I expect everything to work as advertised, no ifs or buts, unless they state them.

Well congrats. Let me know how you like it and what kind of numbers you end up with. Between you , az3er, swe, and me we got just about every kit ATP offers. But one thing please be careful that is not safe at all to be running that boost on 94 octane. Do you have stock internals? The stock pistons on the EVO sucks! with there silicone filled pistons basically one bad detination and you are replacing all kinds of stuff. Trust me im just now getting the block and head back from the machine shop but it will be worth it!. Anyway what housing did you go with? What compressor? Did you have problems with the oil return line leaking? All of us has! What about the oil return line bolts they supply. Nobody's has seemed to work. Anyway have fun with it and get that thing dynoed cant wait to see some numbers.

I have no idea what are you talking about? Are you ok? Did you read what he said? he said he had to shave the AC bracket and it took him 15 min and took me 5 min. if you call this hard then you need to buy a Camry. Running 26 psi is just for a sec I am sure he is not boosting that high (26) to redline. Mine spikes up to 25~26 around 3600K and drops down quickly to 24 then 23 then 21. That’s what I call perfect tuning. I am sure he has almost the same map I have. This is a great kit and so far I have 3K with out even one small issue. I drive my car everyday in sun in the heat and in the rain.

perfect tuning? Perfect tuning is a 11.2 a/f on pump gas ...22 psi boost to redline and 400+awhp and 26 to redline on race gas...why would you want taper on a big turbo? Also, how do you go about tuning in boost drop off....?

Well actually a perfect tune would be around 11.5-11.7 on pump depending on where you live i guess and the gas you get. 22-24psi is all you should run also on pump. On race agian depending on what race gas you get and what the turbo can handle but you should be able to push 30-40psi on c16 with 12.1 A/F depending once agian on what your turbo can handle and its efficiency range. As far as boost drop i dont think that with a aftermarket setup there should be any boost drop. Your boost should be rock solid all the way to redline. Just my 0.02

Oil leak is not a minor thing, a constant slew of wrong parts being sent is not a minor thing, but then again my standards are way higher then yours when it comes to performance products, this is a nice car and I'll be damned if its gona leak oil all over. Why offer an oil return line that does nothing but leak oil? That is a BIG deal to me, unless you like having oil leaks, IDK.

Running 26 psi is just for a sec I am sure he is not boosting that high (26) to redline
By far the easiest way to kill a turbo car with that much boost on pump gas. At 26PSI, on PUMP GAS on a turbo that flows WAY better then the stock turbo, ok to me that is just insane, but that is just my opinion. All it takes is one detonation, one misfire, and on pump easily done, to send you engine's pieces out through the exhaust, 26PSI on pump gas? Anyway its a good turbo, all I said that I have less patience then others, sorry you had to pounce on me, enjoy your oil leak I know it is minor stuff but I want perfection. Turbo Trix just released a nice kit, AMS has my favorite I think as this kids car is faster in the 1/8MPH by the time I hit the 1/4, he runs liek a 10.8 @ 140MPH, scary fast.

Mine spikes up to 25~26 around 3600K and drops down quickly to 24 then 23 then 21. That’s what I call perfect tuning. I am sure he has almost the same map I have. This is a great kit and so far I have 3K with out even one small issue. I drive my car everyday in sun in the heat and in the rain

Good for you

No the 3037 cant handle that much i was just making a example. The 35/40R can hold that much and beyond but after about 40psi you are out of its efficiency range. Sorry for any confusion. I believe the 3037 can boost up to 30psi before not being efficient and even at that i believe you are pushing it

Oh ya and it all depends on if you are a spool freak or not? I love my 35/40R but some would say it lags too much but some would also say the stock turbo lags too much so its all preference. If you have a stroked engine then i would say it would be a great turbo for street and strip but if you are running stock internals and stuff i would say unless you are a big drag racer stick with the 3071 or 3037. Just my 0.02

Great info. I'm starting to lean towards something like this for my Evo, come next spring... Can't wait to see your dyno charts.

the 26 is a spike and then it tapers. i did say WHAMO 26 lbs. I should have made it clearer. i also run a gallon of toulene in every tank, so my octane is a little higher than the map is tuned for. just extra insurance.

no offense guys, but i think i will trust shiv on the tuning and boost. as a matter of fact, he told me that this was a conservative tune. i asked for a race gas map, and he declined. he said he did not feel comfortable with anything but a very conservative 93 octane tune, until he could get my car on the dyno.

once again, thanks to brian at vishnu for making sure all the issues were handled quickly and correctly. i am very happy with the kit and would be glad to answer any ?'s anyone has.
