Stock Turbo question

Can you make 320-350whp without cranking the boost up on the stock turbo?
I have mine set at 1.5 bars which is roughly 21-22 psi and don't think I'm anywhere near 320whp. If I have a custom tune and a/f is at 11.0, if I run higher octane. Can I raise boost up a few more lbs safely? I have HKS cams and ARP studs. Thanks

AEM EMS... that's what will get you there on the stock setup. Also some cam gears to adjust vlv timing.

Absolutely !!!

Leave your boost where it is. (I assume you have a turbo back exhaust). If you're using the SAFC2 for your tune it will get you there (cams help a bunch). I would do the FMIC upgrade and possibly test pipe and you'll be right there. You don't need a stand alone (IMO) if you intend to stick with the "stock" turbo.

Thanks guys for your feed backs. I've been reading alot on these new turbos and makes me want one bad but I'm in so much debt that I'm going to just stick with the stocker for now. If I can hit 350 whp on my stock turbo, that should be good for a few years until some of the debt is paid off. I have the 3" BR turbo back with a highflow cat, 660 BR injectors, 255 Walbro fuel pump, manual boost controller, HKS RS intake, and HKS 264/276 cams. My car was street tune by BIG AL. I need a few more power. Would having a SAFC II help much?

you meant 264/272 right

Why did you do the injectors? are they really needed cause I plan to go with 264/264 cams and dont want to do the injectors (daily driver, college student on budget, I want good MPG) I already did the Walbro, turboback,MBC and intake and just want the cams to complete my power mods for a few years.

Also why did you do the APR's Where they just eay to install when the cams went in so you might as well for insurence?

Custom tune by AL is on par with the SAFC2. What you need is the FMIC (front mount intercooler). http://www.automotosports.com/evo_intercooler.asp (read the page; it speaks for itself)

Thanks for the corrections on the cams . Hands quicker than the eyes. I drove down to BR for the DSM shootout in Aug and had Al tune my car and he recommended me getting them since have cams on and he said that the injectors are maxing out with the cams. Since I was there, I had them install it before the tune. Car runs smoother and gas mpg actually went up a little bit. Only problem I have with the bigger injectors is little hard idling when cold but when it warms up. I works like a charm. I did the ARP for insurance and hoping I can up the boost. It's pretty simple is you are going to do cams anyways and have the valve cover off why not throw in the ARP studs.

thnx, Ill consider the injectors along with the cams and APR but this puts the cost of parts around 550 (cams) + 100 (apr) + 300 (680 RnR injectors) = approx 1000 (if I can get a deal on install) Also another 350 for Al to tune the upgrades. (note to self: play the lottery this weekend)

Which injectors are you running?

I'm running the BR 660 injectors. If you can get those 3 parts you've listed for 1000. That's a pretty good deal. I've paid over 1100 for same 3 parts but I'm very impatient and buy from whoever has it in stock the day I decide to buy. The AMS GT35 turbo is on my list and it's been eating my mind for the last few weeks but the pricing is what's holding me back.
