What are the differences between the $2600+ Exedy racing twin plate carbon clutch and the $1500 Cusco twin plate carbon clutch?

That’s what I heard. HKS, Exedy and Cusco are all build in the same manufacture but with different specs. I went with the Exedy.
The Exedy carbon clutch you are talking about for 2600 dollars is a totally different clutch than the regular Exedy or Cusco. The Cusco does not have a full carbon plate. It is a carbon metalic mix. I think the regular exedy for 1300 is a ceramic metalic mix. Not much difference betwen those two. But the Exedy Carbon for 2600 uses full carbon plates. NO MIX. Like the ATS. The Cusco has a sprung center. Where the full carbon clutches do not. I would look at the ATS. I love mine. A carbon clutch will last longer. Hold better as it heats up and be easy to drive. More so than any other kind of 2plate clutch.

you can get the ats twin carbon from boost solutions for like $ 1985.00 dollars. this is the clutch that I will be getting. I rode in an evo with one and it is the best clutch out their. call and talk to George.
No the ATS is not sprung center. Solid. But it drives really easy. You cant go wrong with it. The only thing is they chatter. All dual plates chatter. But it isnt that big of a deal. If my wife didnt complain then you better not. LOL. You can launch the ATS completely different from regular clutches. Because it is full carbon plates (friction plates, there is a clutch that is 4000.00 dollars from RPS I think that uses carbon friction plates as well as Carbon pressure plates. But I am not sure about that.) What you do is pull up on the emergency brake so you dont move. Then rev up to 5000 or 5500 and just get the clutch to where it just starts to grab. You will feel the car squat down (very cool) when you get the light you just drop the emergency brake and not drop but quick slip the clutch and you will get a perfect launch every time that will not jolt the transmission. You cant do this with the regular exedy or cusco because they cant take the heat but the ATS can. I dont drag race so I dont do that but I know a guy who has a 9sec evo 5 and that is how he launches. Easy to do and very easy on tranny and tc.
And the exedy full carbon is not sprung either. I have never heard bad things about ATS. I have heard about exedy's cheeper clutch going bad. A friend of mine's exedy just went out on him at about 20,000 miles with no drag launches. He went with the exedy full carbon twin and loves it. But the ATS is bulletproof from my experience as well as others.
