I remember when i had my civic si boosted and the thing to get was the autometer gauges, which were pretty nice. I got the ultra-light series. two of them boost and air/fuel ratio. i had them mounted on the with the autometer gauge cluter is. Well anyways time for me to get some gauges for my evo, as i have some stuff being shipped my way as we speak. You know tb exhaust, intake, fuel pump. So my question is what gauges and what type.
Do i want mechanical or electric. I would like to get two gauges, a boost and a egt. Is electric gauges that much more better? ANd where do i mount them. im thinking of getting the two gauge holder on the steering column. Does that obstruct any views of the speed or rpm...

 

i got some defi bf's.oh god,there so worth the cash.there electric.combo them up with a craig hardy panel from gruppe-s,and you won't be disapointed

 

I was never a big fan of autometer gauges simply because I don't like the way they light up at night. The quality of the gauges matches their prices so if you can live with that, they'll be fine.

I prefer electrical gauges since you only need to worry about routing wires to the cabin. I personally like the greddy 60mm gauges with the peak and hold features.

Autometer work great for me.

 

I like the VDO's for price and reliability. Not to mention they match pretty well.

 

Im using an autometer Z series mechanical boost(black face with red "light condom") and an AEM wideband o2. Mounted in the autometer dual steering column pod. Boost and wideband are the first gauges to get IMHO.

 

I have the AutoMeter Carbon Fiber series in mine. I like the way they look plus they light up red to match everything(I changed my climate controls too.) for AutoMeter.
