Exhaust question - advice needed!

I currently have the Greddy Ti bolted up to the stock cat and DP. I'm looking to finish up the set up by getting a 3" DP and cat-delete pipe but I want to make sure I don't throw a CEL. I know that Ultimate Racing products don't throw a CEL but I'm told that the 02 bung is actually on the cat-delete pipe itself, so then I'd have to plug the bung on the Greddy Ti. Any other suggestions or ideas? TIA guys.

-Matt

Matt - I have the exact same combo u mentioned. ie Greddy Ti bolted to a UR 3 inch DP and Test pipe. You are correct about having to plug the bung on the Greddy and extend the sensor to the test pipe. I have not had any problems with the CEL so far. Also I have no rattles or any complaints so far. It's a very well designed piece with no need to lower your front tie bars to clear the DP. I'm extremely satisfied with UR products and their service. Also you get the hardware to extend the wiring and to plug the bung.

You may want to check out the Works DP. I read somewhere on the forum that they went thru a lot of R&D on that pipe. They may have a fix for the CEL too.

Hope this helps.

the ur cat delete comes with the plug. so u just switch the plug and o2 sensor. only thing i didn't like was extending the o2 sensor wires.

Thanks guys! I'll just go ahead with the UR DP and cat-delete since it comes with the extensions and plug.

Honestly I think you will get a 420 code with any cat delete. It may not come right away, but it will. The safest bet would be the sensor.

Explain what you mean by "the sensor" a little more for me, and a guy I talked to with the UR set up has gone 5000 miles with no CEL so I dunno...

This mod is the best to get rid of the 420 code, I did it and I have no 420 code for the last 2 months.

Or you can get the 18MM spark plug anti-foulers and drill one out to 1/2". This is an easy fix and you don't have to extend any of the O2 wires b/c you put the sensor back onto the exhaust.
