Toda Stroker engines 2.32 liters available.

Hi all,

Tons of interest in the stroker engines for the EVO8. So much so that I went ahead and put one together and have it on the stand and ready to ship.

I don't see a problem with doing these in the future on a regular basis.

I used the Toda Stroker kit as it was priced right and available.

The kit uses a 2.4 liter crank, a set of production Mitsubishi rods and a set of nice forged coated pistons.

The kit retails for $3500 by itself. You then have to do the machine work to the block, supply main bearings, main studs, balance shaft elimination kit and assemble it.

I have the completed stroker shortblock for $3500. I do need your core back after you get the engine in and in your car. I will also sell them outright for $4,000.

Take care,

David Buschur

We have a spare head here too, I think we have two at this point we are using to swap out for installs here at the shop. Give us a call.

4,000 put together. What is the ball park figure to have you install?

Can you please expain the positive/negative compromise with this setup? Do you recommend something other than the stock turbo?

thank you,

i read in a magazine article awhile back that this kit needed the pistons machined for clearance or somthing. Is this the case?? Also i hear you guys like the Eagle stuff, are they doing a kit also??? Are the stock rods adequate??? RRR

I was actually also interested in using the eagle kit if possible.. But I'll call you guys early next week, I want to make sure the core short-block makes it here without any problems before I start planning or laying out cash.

FWIW $4000 outright would make the block around $500 and thats a better price than I paid for my core short block.. and better than the going rate for them..

The stock mitsu rods can handle a good amount of power. It's only the pistons that can't.

I say it's a good price.

Yes they can, but if you are going to all the trouble and expense why not make it bulletproof.

Because bullet-proof costs money. This is $3500 bucks built, how much is the JDM stuff your quoting? And if you want to run a 2.3L daily driver and you don't plan on running C16 and 30PSI, why spend the extra?

Add in $500-600 for the block work and don't forget the extra downtime from not having a core for them to work on. Oh, also think about the quality of work of the shop you take it to since Buschur has a lot of experince on the 4g63 you would be taking a chance at an average shop that maybe doesn't care about you returning to them.
