TOB problems/question
TOB problems/question
I've posted something about this before but I don't think this specifically has been adressed. So I believe that the TOB is loose( though I don't know what the effects of that is). So basically I was wondering what are the consequences of driving around with the TOB loose? I'm mainly asking since I am going to be going to gingerman soon hopefully and I don't want my car breaking on the way back
. I know the TOB is part of the clutch but would it cause slipping? Does it have any effect on people grinding gears or breaking T-cases? Thanks for the info.
And when I say I think my Throw out bearing is loose i mean that when i rev in neutral with clutch engaged the sound is deeper and mroe pronounced than revving with clutch disengaged. Basically if i held rpms @5k in nuetral then diseganged the sound would become lighter and just the engine so the driveline is making some noise...
TIA for your input.

Not sure what effect it would have on an Evo since it is a pull system but on my Eclipse I experienced a TOB that had a broken clip. It drove fine just made a little noise. It is best to fix it as soon as possible though.
