Angry So....another clutch problem...

Let's see where do i start...
i have an 02 OZ rally and after i got my car back from my ex the clutch is slipping majorly. I can put it in gear and let the cluch out and it still runs like its in neutral. Also, when i drove it sometimes the clutch will grab and sometimes itll just spin and itll go nowhere. My first thought was the. TOB. And then i thought maybe the clutch is completly fried due to him not giving a sh** and ragging on it. I don't know what clutch i should get ( which is the best one for the best price). Or could it just be the flywheel that needs to be RS? Also, should i change the slave too? Any advice/tips would be great.

Given that it's an '02, it's likely the clutch is shot. If you're just looking for an OEM replacement, pick up an OEM Exedy clutch. If you're looking for something with a little more grip, you might look at a stage 1 clutch from ACT or Clutchmasters. You'll definitely want to get the flywheel resurfaced. I also highly recommend getting a replacement slave cylinder. On the 2002-2003 Lancers the slave cylinder and throwout bearing are a single piece.

+1 on this. I run Exedy OEM replacement in my 03 OZ...Been in there for well over 75k miles with no problems. In my 04 Raliart, I have the Clutchmasters FX200...55k miles so far.

Im going with the exedy kit with the new slave...im gonna do it myself. It shouldnt be that hard to do. I've installed clutches on my honda and acura before. But by what im reading its kinda a hooker to change out. Is there any specific tourque specs? What tranny fluid should i use. I've been reading about the redline. What am i getting myself into exactly?...lol
