Hi guys have a question and did a search,but couldnt find a direct answer...

Getting a new intake and decided to check the turbo shaft for play,If I push in and out I get about .5mm of play and no play if I push straight up and down,the blades looks perfect car runs great,I am concerned because one post siad there shouldnt be ANY end play pushing the shaft in and out?

I wouldn't worry about it. If it moves up and down, then there's a problem.

 

.5mm = ~.0197", thats a bit more than expected. As long as there isnt much if any blade contact, dont worry about it. I use to set-up out gtp turbos that spun a measured 130K & @ .005-.008 of end float.

Like I said earlier, as long as the blades are not touching, happy motoring!
