IC pipe blows off intake manifold...

Well it happened 3 times 2 weeks ago. I havent driven the car in over a week, so i cant say its happening again. I have noticed that the clamp keeps loosening itself. I decided i'd buy upgraded pipes. Im still waiting for them to come in. In the mean time, I've noticed that my boost has climbed slightly, which would indicate a boost leak (or so i think) But i think its overcompensating for a leak in the ic piping. could that be it? i really didnt wanna take off the front bumper and tighten everything if im going to get a new ic pipe kit in a week anyway. any suggestions?

I would nt say boost creeping but maybe boost leaking from a leak in the setup. I figure you would be losing pressure in the system with a leak. Maybe the boost controller would try to compensate but I dont know.

its weird, because it only happened AFTER the pipe blew off. i mean the car is tuned for 21psi and it can handle it...im not getting knock or anything, but it just seems like it went up. Hopefully all problems will be fixed after IC piping...but its a reminder to keep those bolts tightened. and also Im thinking about getting those big t-clamps, as i hear they are much better.

t-bolt clamps are way better.

You don't need to pull the bumper to tighten the clamps, but you do need to remove the undertray.

Take care,

T bolt clamps are a must, you will never have to deal with hoses blowing off again.

had the pipe blow off me running 22psi in my eclipse at the track once.
id say your problem would be fixed with new connecting elbows. the flex grows way too much under pressure.
