New clutch problems, Help?

Hi all,

I burned my stock clutch out at 23K miles, so I bought the ACT street disc clutch and a Fidanza flywheel and brought the parts to a local well-known speed shop for install. They also put in a SS clutch line while they were in.

I have about 160 miles on the install now, and I'm noticing some stuff that worries me. I need to know if these symptoms are serious or are just part of a new aftermarket clutch breaking in. I have never used an aftermarket clutch, so I am not sure!

During normal (calm) operation, the clutch is fine and engages properly. But when I put the clutch under any load (starting at 4K RPM and slipping the clutch, hard acceleration in 2nd), I get a front-end shudder I can feel through the gas pedal.

After the clutch engages, I can hear and feel a rapid B-B-B-B-B-Bump! On launch, sometimes I also hear a scraping noise coming from the front-end.

What could this be?
Is this normal with this clutch?
Do I need an adjustment?
Is something in my drivetrain breaking?
Any ideas on what this could be?

Thanks!

John

Anyone?

I'm taking this back to the shop to see if they can diagnose the shudder/bump tomorrow. I'll try to post here before I buzz off to South America on Tuesday.

Nobody else has had the prob?

OK, the shop figured out the problem.

One of the rear engine mount bolts had backed out, so when the engine went under torque load, it would buck and shudder.

Bolt replaced and tightened down, and now everything is as smooth as a baby's backside.

My car shudders violently when I remove my left foot quickly in 1st gear. Is it considered normal?
