I believe its 2.58 qts. Or when it starts to come back out of the filler is also a good indicator.

From the manual:

Transfer case - .58 quarts
Rear diff - .58 quarts

Or you can just pump oil in until it starts flowing out the filler plug

Hey I was wondering if someone could answer my question?
It's somewhat related to the original poster's question so I didn't want to start a new thread. And yes I did a search and haven't come across what I was looking for.

Doe's anyone no if the t-case has a safety valve or seal that blows out fluid if you over fill it? I was filling the t-case with a high pressure oil gun, and the nozzle was at a weird angle so I had to plug the hole to get anything to go in. Well as I was filling the t-case fluid came out the fill hole AND it also came out somewhere on top of the t-case. Right before the drive shaft.

Did I blow a seal or something?...... please Thanks. eric

Yes, the tranny and transfer case both have these rubber plugs on the top that relieve pressure. If you overfilled your the transfer case, you most likely popped that rubber plug off and had your fluid spill out. So you should look for it and put it back on. You didn't do any damage.

Oil can still seep out of that plug without it popping off. Perhaps it's still on there.
