30,000 miles still stock clutch
i dont think you should have to take it up to 2k in first to get the car moving...that alone can be abusive to the clutch. It says on your name you have an 04? Whats up with that?
BTW, I have 18k, clutch line and restrictor removed, still feels good, and lots of chatter!

I spoke too soon, 31K miles and my clutch is starting to slip. Only during full-power acceleration in 3rd+ gear though. I turned my boost as low as it can go, and I'm driving like a granny till my ACT HD pressure plate + street disk arrives next week. I'm avoiding hills and stop+go traffic like its the plague, and rev matching & heel-toe-ing exactly perfect.
On the plus side, my miles per tank has shot up to an astonishing astronomical 300+ in mixed city/freeway driving!. Before this, a conservatively driven tank of mostly freeway driving would net me at the most ~260, and most tanks were well into the red light at ~200-220. So, oddly enough, a slipping clutch has been overall positive as I have changed some of my driving habits for the better and gained a little knowledge.

15,222 - cold starts suck, but when things warm up the clutch is fine. Much abuse to the clutch (6-7 launches, hard driving few times a month and many stupid things, while practicing new things). Hopefully, it will last me until the summer, when the ACT will go in.
My car is in the shop for the TSB on the 5th gear syncro (warranty).. I took a look at the flywheel and it has blue streaks. The dealer told me they would replace the clutch and flywheel for me at this time with only the charge for the swap. They recommend I stay with Mitsu parts but are letting me go with a stronger after market set. This will save me about $800 in labor at some point. They are even holding my car until the new clutch arrives. My clutch was not slipping and the disk has plenty of thickness left but this is too good an opportunity to pass up.
25k on the stock clutch w\restrictor... Still fine, chatters in the morning, but that's it.. Plenty of aggressive launches on it.
Evo clutch issues remind me of the WRX tranny issues... "WTF Subaru F'ed up, why do I keep shattering second gear??"

Hi all,
~27K here, stock clutch with occasional chattering in the morning.
I've been thinking that it's starting to feel worse, but it still holds WOT in all gears. I'm about to do a bunch of 30k maint type stuff (SS brake lines, Ferrodo pads, bleed brakes, flush radiator, fuel filter, drivetrain and engine oil) and I'm considering an SS clutch line to see if it improves the feel and chattering.
Most cars probably don't have clutch problems, it's just that we hear the complaints as opposed to the majority of people who don't have issues and don't say anything.
Take care,
FB
