Let's see your Oil Catch can installs
 

A lot of people are interested in installing Oil Catch Cans. Let's make a thread with pictures showing your installation. Some people use custom cans, other uses modified ebay cans and I have seen a lot of people using modified air line filters (specially in the Subbie world) with good results.

I bought one already and have not installed, but due to size I am considering dumping it and use an air line filter, something like the husky units. I do not have a small battery kit or aftermarket intake, so space is kind of cramped.

Pics not good but, Cusco can on PCV side and inline filter on VC side when pics taken, inline has been replaced with a DC3 mounted on drivers side firewall.

here is MY OIL CATCH CAN. Cant beat the PERRIN CATCH CAN comes in 3 different colors and looks completely bada$$. just wait till i get my hose kit br stage 3 head and fp red later this week. Now we are talking

Kracka Vents are a must for installing catch cans....if you don't have some already, get some!

its not about price man. some of us are not cheap to find a quick fix. I rather parts stand out and give the engine some flare. Not all boring and black etc, but hey its your car as long as your happy its cool

I don't have any pictures at the moment, but I don't use catch cans. I use an in-line tractor fuel filter on the breather side (laugh all you want, but it works better than most cheap catch cans :p). On the PCV side, I use a Kobolt air/water seperator that does a pretty decent job. I use that because it's rated at 90psi, and the PCV side sees boost, I didn't want to risk one of the plastic fuel filters exloding.

The fuel filters I change about every other oil change, and route the line so it has to travel further making it harder for the oil vapor to get to the intake. They're only $3, so changing them is no big deal.

The air/water seperator is $11 and you can pull it apart and pout it out when you see it filling up. So once you buy one, you really don't need to replace it, as long as you take care of it. I've had a few trial and error issues with it and have gone through 3 of them, but there is no reason you should need more than one throughout the lifetime of the car.

Also, I like to use braided clear lines to watch them working. The line in starts to brown up and the line out stays clear... for some time anyway. Once the line out starts to brown up too much, you know it's time to change the filter or empty the air/water sperator.

Sure, my way is ghetto, but I'm saving money, with the same benifits. Doesn't look as good either. But by the time I spend $100+ in $3 filters, well...
