Stupid Mitsu dealer

Ok well last night was a bad night. I was driving on the turnpike and the car in front of me hit a loose tire tread from a tractor trailer on the side of the road. The tire flew up and hit my windshield damaging the car pretty good. So I had it towed to the Mitsu service center last night. Well today they had to tow my car to the collision center which is about a mile down the road. SO i went to drop off my keys and I see about half way in between the service center and the collision center, my car on the side of the road up on a normal tow truck.

I go directly to the collision center myself and told them that my car was being towed here and that it should be on a flat bed. And the guy was like, "It's a front wheel drive car right?" I was like NO it is AWD and should be on a flatbed. Where do they get these people that work for mitsu and do not even know what an EVO is?????

My question is this...will traveling about a half a mile on a FWD tow truck with my e-brake on and with it in gear damage anything???????

Regadless if it di dor not I would get something signed in writing from those guys that towed your Evo WRONG stating that if you have troublei n the future they will pay the full cost of repair. This kind of stuff really pisses me off and the idiots that know no better should pay the price.

I'm gonna have to go with...yeah, might want to have somebody who knows anything about AWD of Evos look at it to see how much you will have to sue them for in negligence.

Yes, damage could have definatly occured. This is not to say absolutely that it did, but a lot of potential is there. A local guy I know that comes on this board sometimes under the name SilverSurfer had his car on an all-wheel dyno tuning it. After one pull the dyno brakes stopped one roller, but the brake on the other roller failed, it toasted his center diff. He had a front wheel drive Evo for a while.

the guy has a point( the thread maker) .. I would be mad too ( very mad) . Mitsu does not know **** about our EVOS. The service manager thought my EVO was Automatic.

The state trooper that helped me out atleast called for a flatbed tow truck. He knows more about the EVO than the dealership.

what components could have been damaged by towing this way? I would like a list of possible parts if somebody could list them...

well the same thing happend to me. accept it was towed for no reason. they said is was parked in a no parking zone(bullsh*t) i know better than that anyway they took it on a tow truck with e brake and in gear and they ****ed up my u joints and of course they are not responsible so i was forced to pay and fix it. o yea word of advice for all you other evo owners when u park your car and leave it in gear the best way to prevent a regular to truck from taking your ride is to leave it in reverse its the hardest gear
