Need some advice on how I can do better (or did I get decent deal?).
10k down, beacon score of 752 so my interest is gonna be like 4.5..
72 months for 350 without the sun package and all that **** cause I didn't want it.
I can do a lot better, no? Can you guys give me some info on what to say and about what..like all the hidden fees and what not? Thanks.
PS - I know this probably shouldn't be here but I posted in the correct forum and kind of need advice/information ASAP.

Is this for the RS or the Evo VIII?

if you get a good rate, put down as little as possible and do something w/ the money (CD, or mutual, and if you have a good broker---stock) And if you get a great interest rate, go with a longer loan... The depreciation of the Evo is going down, and if you are gonna be keeping it for the long haul thats what i would do... But what do i know, im just outta college so i dont have the $$$.
What city do you live in? Know of any other Mitsubishi dealership around? Try and find one 50 miles away or so. Tell the current dealership that so-and-so dealership quoted you 10 grand down, $325/mo @ 4.5% for 72 months. Tell him they checked the odometer and there's 15 miles on it. Ask em if they will give you $323 a month because you like working with them better. Otherwise, settle @ $326. BE FIRM. Good luck, baby.

OZ EvoVIII had the only worthwhile post out of 2 pages. You have to do what's right for you and do it intelligently. Most of the responses you got I'm sure are from people that want to help and share their opinions and advice, however most haven't the slightest idea of what they are talking about. Put down $0, put down $25K, now how the hell does this information correlate to the kind of deal you are getting? It has no bearing. You negotiate your price, you get your own financing through the credit union or peoplefirst and move on. You will pay your downpayment amount to set your payments in a comfortable range and for no other reason. Go the maximum terms 72 mos, even though you could afford 48 or 60 month financing. You will be doing your debt ratio a nice favor. You will also improve your credit rating with a higher "high credit" If you decide to lump sum a few grand on your payment, the balance to high credit ratio will help you improve your credit scores. If you choose to make additional pricipal payments, then do it if you can one month, pay your minimum payment otherwise. 752 fico should get you about 3.5-3.75% through a local CU. For the people who tell you go 60mos, go 48mos. you may go listen to them, but when it comes time to buy a house or your wife or GF gets pregnant and you are forced to sell your car due to the short term financing, you will take it in the rear when you have to sell the EVO out of desperation. Don't put yourself in that position. There have been plenty of people I could not get home loans for because of a $700-800 car payment or short term financing decision that they thought was a great idea at the time... Good Luck!

Why you gotta put down my post? If you wanna go there, your advice just so happens to be the ABC's of purchasing a car whom everyone and their mother is already aware of. My advice comes from experience of selling EVO's as well as experience of buying EVO's. I understand you're tryin' to help this guy out, as I am, but you don't gotta go around and start dissing people you don't know. I'm giving this guy some golden advice. He's getting a fair deal, but he COULD get a slightly better deal.
If you get $326/mo for 72 mos. @ 4.5%, you'll be more than good to go. They're not making much on the vehicle, but they make a penny or two on the financing. Deal should fly. Or if you do decide to go a shorter term, @ 60 mos. you should be able to get anywhere from 2.9% to 3.9% through a credit union. One point in financing isn't a ball breaker when you get down and actually compare the two payments. 60 months to 72 months is where the ball breaker is. The term is up to you, but if you're sticking to your 72 months, you can get $326 all day long if you're firm. One more thing, 72 months is not the maximum term you can go. 84 is easily accessible. Some banks actually go 96 and 108 on approved credit, which you will have no problem in obtaining. Don't even get in to those loans tho. 72 is the standard "long term loan", although, there are those that decide to go 84 months as well. You don't need to go 84 unless you're running on a tight budget, but then again, there are those who say why pay all this money up front on something that depreciates so quickly. It's your baby and will be for quite some time. Didn't mean to confuse you
.72 it @ $326/mo. and you'll be loving life. Hope this helps you out.

Thanks guys.
Well I'm picking up my EVO today. It seems (and I've checked numerous dealerships) that there are NO FREAKING EVO'S without the sun/sound/leather. .
I said **** it. I might as well get leather, which I wanted anyway..but could really care less for the sunroof and stereo.
He only added like another 1500 instead of the 2500 for the package..which seemed alright.

RS is 25176 invoice dealer
VIII is 28182 invoice dealer
destination is 595.00
This means your 29200 not including 6% sales tax and destination leaves:
26952 car price
595 destination
27547 sub total car + destination
1653 6% sales tax.
Looks okay to me. Just make sure your financing options. I don't think you
will get 4.5% with your credit rating. Use an auto financial calculator to tabulate
your total interest scenarios so you don't get screwed by the dealer.
