Altering the exhaust Silencer tone.

Any ideas how to remove the woooshing, hisssing, or the buick 4 door sounding of an exhaust with the silencer. I think woooshing sound is coming out of the sides of the silencer. It sounds horrible.

try putting a bead of high temp silicone sealer around the edge of the silencer, let it dry, and reinsert it.

you'll have a home made O-ring.

also, someone correct me if they don't make a sealant that can withstand the exhaust temp.

I wouldn't want you screwing up your car on my advice.

There are silicon sealants used for 50F to 700F application.

Just take it out. They don't make any noise at all sitting on the bench.
