i had the same deal with a dealer in vancouver WA. dick hannah. f that guy and his whole get up. his commercial say they sell renaults. haha. anyway so i am in the works to buy a evo from another dealer an i had talked them over the phone to 1k over invoice. well dick hannah says they will beat any deal so i call um.. it is a monday night, a holiday and i have the next day off, when i am supposed to close this other deal. the guy on the phone tell s me tonight only (they are still technically in the previous month even though it is the next month due to the weekend and the holiday they are 2 cars from meeting there quota for the month) this dicke offers me if i come in tonight he will sell me the thing for 500 over invoice. i make the 2+ hour trip in to vancouver with my pregnant wife, at like 10pm. i get there and immediately i know something is up. they obviously have sold the two cars they needed to and are in no mood to deal at five hundred over invoice to me. i am pissed almost beet the shiz out of the salesguy after he tells me he cant get me financed. even though i faxed my credit app before i left. i took the gas voucher and straight bailed. i was so mad. DONT GO TO DICK HANNAH. i got my evo the next day though. couldnt be happier. got a better deal than i thought i would too.

End of story (as posted in another thread). I got my white '04 EVO RS from Huntington Beach Mitsu today. Paid $300 over invoice, or $200 less than the deal I lost at Tustin Mitsu.

...and that's all that matters. Another Evo finds a good home. Congrats and welcome to the club.

Heard nothing but good thinks about HB sales and service. Should have went there first. Good luck with the RS.

Haha that's funny stuff. I had some trouble with the idiots at Tustin Mitsu also. Actually about 2 weeks ago. Don't waste your time with guys.

I tried to buy a Evo there and they cancelled the deal. I negotiated invoice on a blue '04 Evo. I guess they were trying to make up the difference on the financing side but couldn't so they ended up telling me no deal.

I walked out and they called me back this time for $500 over invoice. I told them you we negotiated invoice and now you want me to pay $500 over invoice. I told to forget it.

So the next day I went over to South Coast Mitsu and bought a Evo. But the funny thing was South Coast Mitsu didn't have my color and all they had was Evo's with leather which I wasn't interested in. So South Coast Mitsu found the car I wanted and guess where it was at ... that's right Tustin. Me and a sales guy drove over to Tustin, the sales guy told me to wait across the street and I did. I waited for about 20 minutes. I guess the Tustin guys weren't too happy I could see several people ... Ryan, Stephen and Fred giving my sales guy some trouble. After he pulled out of the lot my sales guy gave me the keys and told me they weren't too happy with me. I guess they remembered. I guess they were angry because I bought the car cheaper than what they were offereing and I bought it at different dealership but was taking their car.

Well that's my story. I hope this makes you feel better Richard 350Z.
No I haven't driven by the Tustin dealership, I'm afraid they'll throw rocks or something and Hell no I'm not taking my Evo there for service.

hahahahaha. At least no one threatened to punch you out.

I got over it, as soon as I got my RS from H.B. Mitsu. They treated me well and I would definitely go back there again. It's too far from my house to go there for regular service. I will probably go to Torrance Mitsu for that.

While I'm not one who should be allowed to say how anyone should or should not feel, I think the anger they may have felt was not justified. They really sound like a bunch of dumbasses. A good salesperson respects his/her customers from start to finish -- regardless of whether or not they get the sale. They should not have been the least bit surprised.

actually id consider myself one of the most honest guy there, but salespeople have barely any say with the deal. whatever the manager wants is what happens. i personally have never dealt with deposits, but my manager doesnt care about anything and does whatever he wants. so people often stereotype people who work at dealerships because of one bad person or one bad deal, but as much as we try we cant please everyone.
Actually, it isn't so much your fault although you seem to have taken most of the blame with this "bad deal". You (unless you screwed up) should let your manager take the heat..

It's apparent that the Sales Managers are working the deals wrong. Waaay too aggressive and really no honor or customer satisfaction focus to speak of..(at least based on what I have read here) If Richard was a serious buyer and had perhaps been in before, the CC # subject to test ride would have been a no brainer..

My advice is to go work at one of the other stores..
If you have to deal with a Sales Manager that can't even desk a deal properly , than move on to a place where you can sell with some dignity. At least you can sell with pride.

Lord knows there are enough people with chips on their shoulder about dealers and salespeople as it is..(and lawyers are really popular people, too??! ) the last thing you need is to overcome that negativity and sit on a negative showroom to boot.

Glad richard found his RS...Remember kids..."Bad deals get worse and good deals only get better..."
