Tustin Mistubishi Screwed Me !!!

I cut a deal over the phone yesterday with Tustin Mistubishi for a new, white '04 EVO RS at invoice + $500. I told them I would be there in an hour to buy the car. I got there within an hour as promised, and someone else was negotiating for my car. He was an idiot and was will to pay ("a lot") more, and they sold the car out from under me. I told the idiot what my deal was, and the sales manager came storming out of the showroom and threatened me. What a jackazz.

Don't buy from Tustin Mitsubishi. Thanks.

Did you actually see the car on the lot? Dealers will tell you just about ANYTHING to get you to actually come in.....

If you negotiated a deal why not ask them to get another one for the same price you offered?

I not only saw it, I test drove it while they were busy selling it to someone else. I wouldn't by a car from Tustin Mistubishi unless they had the last EVO on earth. Maybe not even then.

Yeah they tried to screw me too. The further away from the wealthy area known as the OC (south OC especially) the better the dealerships get

I would have taken a credit card deposit subject to arriving to secure the deal if I were that salesperson..

The sales guy is really not at fault and netiher is the dealer, really.

But a sharp salesperson would have definetaly locked it up for you until you made it down to sign up..

Unless they had other plans for you when you arrived...

But sounds like it was just an unforeseen situation..

Go buy one somwhere else and good luck!!

Speaking from experience being a previous finance manager for Mitusubishi, the deal is not done until you sign the bottom line. You would be suprised at how many people say they are coming in to buy a car and dont follow through.

Dont hate on the dealership because they sold the car when you were not there. My recommendation is put money down by credit card over the phone if you really want to secure your deal. Otherwise keep your pampers on and dont hate the business world. We all have to make a buck and cant rely on waiting for the customer that might not ever show.

What comes around goes around. All car salesmen, sales managers and finance managers are scum. Always have been, always will be.

The sales manager came charging at me and in a very threatening tone, said "don't mess with my business." Then he invited me to come back to the dealership after closing so that we could have a fist fight. I did not accept his invitation.

I wouldnt blame you for being pissed off for the threat. I would too. I personally dont work in the business anymore, I am now the guy at the bank giving all the dealers the approvals. Im out of the business due to drama involved, and will never go back. Best to always do your negotiations at the car dealership.

Ha, ha, you should of hit em!!

You should have smashed him in the face right then and there. You also should have told the other buyer that the car doesn't seem right and the engine is weaker than other Evo's you drove.
If I were testing the car while there was another guy buying it, I would have kept the thing bouncing off the rev limiter the whole time. "Sorry, I did'nt realize you have to shift gears."

Come on dude, I know the routine. If you wanted them to hold that car for you, you should have given them a credit card over the phone. The sales guys tell you that before you go in. You have absolutely no one to blame but yourself.
