its definitely fuel cut, which is dangerous since thats where you run super lean and boom

it's not going to make your car run any different. My Knock sensor isn't as sensitive now after the dealer flash.

It's idling a bit rough after the flash, but that's just my feeling on it.

Actually, I was going to post a follow-up in a few days but I might as well do it now.

The dealers here in Germany have no clue about the p0300 thing since evos are so rare here, so I sent my ECU to Al at DynoFlash & had him give me a mail-in tune and put the p0300 fix in there as well. When I got it back, the problem was magnified. He suggested new sparkplugs, so yesterday I put in some new NGK BPR7E plugs gapped to .025. So far it's been absolutely perfect... Power is back to normal, pulls all the way to redline like it used to, no shudderring, no fuel cut, EGTs are good, no CEL. I didn't want to jump the gun by posting early and having the problems return a few days later, but I drove around for two hours today with no problems. Hopefully it's gone for good...

Thanks for all the help and suggestions!

BTW just to update you guys, turns out that there is an animal that lives around here (It's called a marder in german. I can't translate it, but it looks like a ferret.) that absolutely loves gnawing on any silicone, whether it be spark plug wires or intercooler tubes. Damn bastards chewed a hole in my lower Buschur intercooler tubing the size of a quarter... That would explain the loss of power and inability to hold boost that I've noticed recently...

great post, since I will be moving to Germany and wondering If I should take a EVO over there? Surprised that AL had a fix for the P0300 problem, seems like Mitsubishi should just send AL all the PCM's that have this problem instead of giving buyback refunds.

the only minor reason i can think of is that even dealers here aren't too familiar with it, so if you need major evo-specific stuff done it might be hard to get it done right or for cheap. the only place i found that would do a custom tune on a dyno with wideband for an evo charges a flat $5000 euro... all other cars on their list are under $1000 euros, including all porsches. and they're located in switzerland...

where are you moving to?
