this may be a stupid question but i'll ask anyways

i was up late last night reading people getting new clutches and how the dealer voids tranny work cause of abuse or whatever.. my question is... what are hotspots?? and secondly what would be the best cluctch to get when its time for me to get one?? act street or exedy???

it all depends on what you want to do with your car. I would say anything under 300 WHP the ACT would be fine, but over 300 I would go with the exedy twin disk. Also if you dont plan on modding it too much look into RRE no name clutch or clutchmasters

hot spots are are marks on the flywheel.they look bluish in color due to hard friction i.e slipping clutch

The ACT will be fine with 450 horsepower. 300? That's nothing. Exedy Twin is overkill for under 400.

It also depends on driving style/usage. Are you going to do 7K launches? If so the Twin Disk may be better since you can slip it better than the ACT. What do you want to do with it?

The only stupid question is the one not asked that requires something to be fixed... However, the second part of your question could have been answered for you with a search on clutches. It has been beat to death. The ACT and the RRE "X-clutch" seem to be the tried and true single plate offerings.
