Just came back from an EVO MR test drive
I was driving by my old job (when I was a salesman at Mitsubishi) and I stumbled on 3 MR's on the lot. I Quickly rushed in and they had a Gray, Red and a White on. One of the salesmans (whos a EVO fanatic and has an EVO of his own, the red one in the pic)
came from the gas station from filling up a Gray MR. He took me for a quick 5 min test drive and it definetly is nice. Since I didnt drive it nor did he drive hard, I really wasnt able to tell a difference from GSR. From what I saw, It all-around a great car BUT im still gonna wait for my 05 GSR with leather. The MSRP was $35,556(somewhere around there) but I asked him "is that the price" He said "Not a chance, there will be a dealer mark-up" So for me 05 GSR with leather will be the best buy. Not only will I get more interior features, but also save money from MR and will get a discount, NO MARK-UP. Straight line performance, the GSR and MR are identical. Since I will NEVER do track driving(especially not now with all the warranty issues) The shocks really dont do it for me and im sorry but my opinion of the BBS wheels sucks. I honestly HATE the look of those BBS wheels, It doesnt make the car look as SEXY or Recognized as the ENKEI's do. I feel clausterphobic. just looking at them b/c of the # of spokes and the BLACK RIM. Just my opinion. Since I will be spending most of the time INSIDE the car and not track racing. Leather and Sunroof are VERY IMPORTANT and the Upgraded stereo really helps as opposed to the BASE MITSUBISHI sound. Im not bashing MR, MR is a great car for some people that will take an advantage of what it offers, but to my taste the GSR with leather is the way to go. I just hate when people think the MR is like "night and day" compared to the GSR.......UMM NO!!!
