It doesnt look like it has areas for the HVAC control lighting to shine thru at all.

you see it's the same... if you want paint then check out this product.

PPG's "Pewter Gray Metallic" (DBI-301-477). you should be able to get a pint mixed for you at any automotive paint shop

 

the light comes through the knobs and buttons.. and also the area surrounding the knobs to show your fan speed, temp, etc.

Those are definetly knock offs..

How did you paint the stock one black? Do you have any pics or anything? I'd be very interested in paint my stock one...

 

i'm not a painter by any means..

after 3 attempt with 3 different color paints.. the best matching was Krylon Med flat black. matches the other dash stuff perfect.

you guys don't like the metalicy look? the thing is isn't it kinda hard to paint the center console... with the ash tray and all the holes and stuff... plus you'd have to mask off the entire "boot" part of it too.
