2005 dupont registery buyers guide lists the mr
but not the mr i know. the registery lists the mitsubishi evo 8 mr FQ-340!
0-60 in 4.4 seconds
157 mph top speed
345bhp!
320lb torque!
is this a misprint, or does this car really exist!?
and since they say its coming to the united states - something is definitely wrong

Yes it does exist, in RHD countries.
As for coming here....who knows. Maybe Mitsu wants to tack on another 5 grand to the MSRP of the MR and sell them for $40K. Then we can have more useless topics about trading up.

Now they are gonna make an FQ-440 with an HKS turbo and all sorts of fun stuff. Someone posted a thread on it. They tested it against a Zonda C12 and the Evo was damn close to being just as fast, but had better handling. Awesome, awesome car. I'd take that 440 over the Enzo.

Anyone read EVO? (British car mag)
They were just given an MR340 (FQ340MR) as a long term test vehicle! There is a picture of it on the street with at least 6" of air. It should be fun watching them abuse it for a year!!! I can't imagine a better car for the B roads in the UK!

The FQ (f*cking quick) series is an Ralliart package added aftermarket in some countries. It is my belief that they are only available in britain, but maybe more widespread distribution is available. The standard EvoVIII is shipped to destination country, registered, then sent to ralliart for tuning.
The stanard euro-spec Evo VIII is only rated for 260bhp. FQ300, 320, 340, and 400 all exist. The 400 is very new and extremely limited in quantity. These are not comparable to the US MR. They start their lives almost
identical to JDM MR thus are RHD and have added goodies like S-AYC. Oh, and they are a LOT more expensive. The FQ300 is >50k $US after currency conversion. The FQ400 is >80k $US.
EDIT: you can read more about them here:

That was the FQ400. Only 100 are being built in the UK by Ralliart. It beat the Zonda in all but top speed. For the price a person would pay to import that car, you could build one faster. But then again, you wouldn't have the 36/36000 warranty.
But like I always say, real rides are built not bought.
