Sell the GSX for Evo? Help me out guys
Okay guyz, heres the deal. Ive come to that point othat im sure alot of you came to when buying your evo's. Im trying to decide what to do. I currently drive a 97 GSX BPU(if you can say that) and I have no problems with it or anything. I have an Evo3 16g and other parts on the ground getting ready to go in and then i drove an Evo and now my mind is messed up. What I want to know is if any of you went from a DSM to an evo what your thoughts are on it now? Im considering going out this weekend and picking up an 03 Evo that I found Rally red with 13k miles on it for 24k. I just want to see if any of you think that you should have kept the eclipse. I love the way my 2g looks and all but overall the evo has grown on me greatly. Thanks guyz =)

i tryed to sell my 97 gst , but it took too long so I traded it for my evo. No regrets what so ever even though I received **** for the trade in, it is still worth it. I say get rid of it and get the evo. The eclipse will never perform as good as the evo.
before you get hasty (since ecstasy seems to lead to misjudgements and not to smart decisions) after your euphoria spasm, i'd clamly think about it...can you really afford to buy it? is the other evo in good condition? can you sell ur DSM for reasonable price before you get impatient and get jipped? etc etc etc
if u dont seem to have any problems, then sky's (or rather your wallet) the limit!

thanks for the responses...heres the deal...im getting 10k for my gsx with 75k miles on it and after putting down a lil more money the payment will be right at 290 a month. Right now i pay 0 per month but once i was done getting fuel suspension injectors fmic ect i was startin to think i would be better off with an evo because on a 2g dsm once i did that i would have to start lookin 6 bolt swap.
I sold my modded 95 GSX after I got my Evo. I thought I would keep for daily driving, but after I got the Evo, I could hardly look at my GSX, let alone drive it. The Evo is everything I wanted my Eclipse to be, but never could. If you can afford it, go for it!
I will give you a different scenario that I was contemplating for about 1.5 yrs before I got my EVO. I had a 2001 A4 quattro with a ship and little bolt ons and a built up 93 Mustang GT that was set up for Auto X. I wasnt sure if I would be happy getting rid of the smoothness of the Audi and the raw torque and power of the Mustang to go with a 4cyl supercar. I was very wrong. I still have the mustang but I dont even want to look at it. The EVO fulfills every void the mustang and A4 had. So I think the way you feel about your DSM is the way I felt about my Mustang. My advice to you..
DO IT!
My Mustang is for sale.

I was in your same position. I had a 1997 GSX that I had a lot of blood sweat and tears in. I was the orginal owner and I did all of the work on the car. The car ran a 13.0 @102, and I was pretty happy with that. But, it had 144,000 miles and a 6 bolt swap was going to cost me ~$7500. The entire suspension needed to be redone. With the 6 bolt, I would have to get either a stand alone or and upgraded ECU to get it work right.
When the Evo's first came out, I could not get past the car being a four door and I thought it was a hideous car. Then I drove one.
I don't think I could ever get my GSX to handle like an EVO. It felt much more solid than my GSX. The power was going to be hard to give away, but it is still the 4g63, so the mods are easy and plentiful.
I saw the MR was coming to the US and I made the move; I sold my car and bought an MR.
IMO, the EVO is a better car overall, much more performance oriented. The EVO is good to go right out of the box, my GSX I had to build up. It was fast in a straight line, but it did not handle or brake in the same league. Plus, my car was totally not "smog friendly" and I had to do tons of work to get it to pass smog. I dececided the car was not worth all of the effort, and with all those miles, there was going to have to be plenty of effort.
I don't have any regrets about selling the GSX (I do miss it though). The EVO is an awesome car, you won't regret the upgrade. You are getting a good deal for your car so go for it!

Well, I was originally planning on selling my fully modded 98 GSX after I got my EVO. Shortly after I got it and drove it everywhere, I noticed that the EVO really attracts attention! Since the EVO is my first new car, I am really **** about keeping the body super clean and ding/dent/scratch free. So I really need a beater car to drive around go to grocery shopping and parking at movie theaters and malls. I ended up parting out all the mods off my GSX, returned it to stock, and am now driving it around as a beater.
Like someone mentioned above, the EVO is everything I wanted my GSX to be. Just keep in mind that insuring and maintaining this thing might cost more than your average car. So don't forget to include those items in your monthly bills.

Pay less than 24k if possible, but for sure do it. My friend has a 10 second gsx and after time they feel like they are falling apart. I can't saw this for all, but it's my experience.
