Boy do i have a dilemma on my hands

I went to the local mitsu dealer here in spokane and was talking to him about trading my ra in for an evo. He told me he could do it, but if i wanted to wait till the week of NOV 10-17 i could take delivery on a brand new gray MR. The dilemma i have is that it will dramatically increase my payments cause i owe a lot on the ra ( long story short, another local dealer screwed me royally and i had to pay out my butt for it. So i want to know whats everyones payments here, the other reason its gonna be high is cause i have no money down. So now i have to decide if a full time college student can afford an MR. Thanks for your help.
Dustin

I hope you park in a locked garage at college. I wouldn't want my brand new limited edition MR parked out in the open where the weather and everyone else can get to it so easily. Stick with the RA for now and wait.

Carpe Diem! Live life and enjoy it while you can. If you passion is cars then do it!

You don’t want to be the old guy in that Harley ad that ran I while ago...
Sitting talking to his grand kids "Yeah, I had a Harley once ... well almost, we put aluminum siding on the house instead"

Don't leverage yourself so far that you can’t afford to keep it, but if you can afford it -- Do It!

Maintenance

The maintenance will put a hurtin' on your wallet. Oil changes are $50 (for guys like me who don't get dirty), a winter set of tires is $800, a new set of summer tires is $800 next year. Gas approaches $30 per tank. Stuff adds up.

Buy beer, pizza and video games while you're in college. Get the Evo (or whatever badass car is next) when you graduate.

Unless the sales rep is an idiot, I would assume that is with trade. 650/month? Doesn't sound like a 60 month payoff unless you're getting raped on interest.

Looks like you have 4 weeks to balance your budget and decide if you can afford it. Better to think it out now instead of taking a bite on your credit later.

i thought mr's got free maintnence though?? Yes its with trade in on my RA, this dealer is really good imo, they have an 05 evo with a sticker price of 30000, and are selling 04's for 27000 if i wanted one of those instead of the mr, but more than likely i will just keep the ra cause i dont want that high of payments (plus my credit isn't that good at 19 years old, which doesn't help my payments any

I'd say just wait. When you graduate, you can treat yourself to a new or used Evo. $650 a month is almost as much as rent or morgage. You are in college now... use the cash for tuition and parties!

ilovecb23, trust me. Enjoy your days of college without worrying about a car payment and maintenance. Wait until you graduate bro, it will be so much by then.
