Potential Evo buyers in DC area

Hey all, after my biweekly harassment of my dealer regarding my deposit and the evo, I confirmed some of the information regarding how the cars will be split among the dealers according to their customer satisfaction scores. Luckily, the one that I have a deposit down with has one of the highest in the dc/md/va area, and they expect to get more cars than their current waiting list. They are selling at MSRP, deposit is $500 refundable, if anyone is interested in hopping onto that list, (as long as you dont bump me from list) it's Stohlman Mitsubishi, in Tysons Corner.

Interesting. I went to Stohlman two months ago, and I was told that about 7 people were on a waiting list, but I shouldn't bother getting on it. I was told that if I just showed up the day of delivery, that I might be able to get one. That sounded a bit sketchy so I decided to go to another dealer.

make sure you get to the highest volume dealer possible. this is what the east coast will be like. its not as hard to get them as say, cali. we dont tend to get much anticipation here until a car is out. take it from me.... i live in Ky.

well, thats good news, when I got on the list like 6 months ago, I was # 8, so maybe some people have dropped off before me. Supposedly the 6000 evos that are anticipated for 1st year work out to like 6-7 evos per US dealer if split evenly, but b/c of the whole method of doling them out based on cust satisfaction, some will get fewer or none, while others will have to get more. I figure (hope) stohlman's is probably good for about 10 or so.

What dealer did you go to, and what deal did they offer?

I called up a smaller dealer in PA that I was familiar with (Tom Masano Mitsubishi). I put down a $500 refundable deposit to get their first evo. I'm not sure if they're taking more deposits or not because they claimed not be getting very many cars.

Yeah, I got this information from Paul. You think he's straight up or exxagerating the numbers expected so I don't go looking elsewhere?

as for whether I'm in Cali, look at the title of the thread and who put it up to get your answer
