i actually am on the stock turbos still !!! i'm sure that's partly because the early blown turbo stories scared me off from modding the car, but i also mainly drove the car on the freeway between SF and San Jose, so they've had a fairly easy life. part of looking more seriously at a new car though was the nagging fear that one day they'll go....and that day must be getting closer each day.
thanks for the warm welcome here! hopefully i'll be able to check out some of the Norcal Evo events in the future!!
oh, and i actually got the car at Steven's Creek Mitsubishi in San Jose. they should still have 4 or 5 of them at the lot unless yesterday was impulse buyer day!

i paid $500 over MSRP which seems to be one of the lower prices i've heard from Bay Area buyers. i wasn't planning on getting a MR, in fact the day started with me going to look at a used WW 2004 Evo that i wanted to mod ala the Vivid Evo. that car was already gone though, so i went to Steven's Creek more just to see what they had.
i think it was the test drive (Yep, they actually let me drive one!!!) and the 6 speed that got me to go with the MR. the suspension on the MR is not brutally stiff and 6 speeds are sexy! i like the rims and the grey color too ! i wanted to get the Advan RGs, but i don't think the gold color will go well with the grey and the BBS rims are already super light.

Congrats on the car man. I'm in the bay area too, San Jose. Hopefull I'll see you at the next meet and yes check out http://www.norcalevo.net. All the bay area guys hang out there.
