Mine cost $600 from the dealership and you can call your insurance company and ask them what the discount is. I have Mercury Insurance and they take either 5 or 10% off, but I don't really remember.

mine was $900, minus a 50% dealer discount = $450 and it knocks about $150/year off of my insurance (which runs me $1800/yr in MA). I think LoJack knocks about 30% off of your COMPREHENSIVE insurance policy. SO what ever you pay for comprehensive is discounted, not the whole policy in general

I paid 900-300=600 from dealer. My expierence with lojack is mixed. Have a friend who parked at store to get something to drink and when came out 3 min latter car was gone reported right away and it wasn't found. Have another friend that found out his car stolen from his parking lot after weaking up in the morning and they found his car in 3 hours. MY point is the lojack will help but is not bullet prove if theft knows what he is doing he will steal your car and you will never see it again.

LoJack is a waste. It uses the analog pager network to activate teh beacon in teh car. If a patrol car has a working unit installed, it will pick up your signal and zero in on your car. The problems are:

- Nothing happens until your car is reported stolen.
- They are easy to defeat and some of eh original units probably have dead back up batteries
- There aren't many receivers working in cop cars
- who wants their car back after a joy rider beat the crap out of it
- There are plenty of GPS systems that notify you your car is stolen, call the police for you, and can locate your car via the internet.

More than likely, the joy rider beating the crap out of it would be the service tech who installed it in the first place.

Check out www.directed.com, Viper, Clifford and Python.

I caught a valet guy speeding in my evo with the Viper tracking unit, it called my cell while I was in the restaurant, we got a free meal out of it.

i think it's really worth it if you get the early warning system so you can actually

report it only minutes after car is stolen. some people say whats lojack worth

if you have full coverage, but think about how much they goin to jack up the policy

afterwards.
