Your First Ding/Dent/Scratch

Went to the grocery store tonight and noticed someone nailed me in the rear passenger door. It's about half and inch long from top to bottom and felt like it penetrated the paint. The dent isn't extremely noticable but in the light it's definately visable. Got all of 5570 miles into her flawlessly all the way around inside and out.

How'd your first ding/scratch/dent go?

Tons of paint chips in the hood, and one that actually creased the hood!!! Must've been one of those damn falling boulders!!

i actually forgot about my first experience because i buffed it out easily...anyway, its a pretty funny story....the evo was sitting in the garage with the door open one day..anyway, we have this big garbage can sitting next to it with a radio ontop.....i was sitting in the basement when all of a sudden i hear a really loud noise, so i run into the garage only to find a HUGE bear staring right at me....apparently it knocked the radio off of the garbage can and onto the top of the front bumper of the evo...there was a little black scuff mark there, but it was easily buffed out...

my wife (she denies it, but only my dad and her have driven the car) pulled to close on a parking block, and scraped the plastic very low on the drivers side front bumper. there is a few rock chips, but i am not to worried about that. you cant see where it hit unless you are really looking.

Got smacked on the hood by a large rock or something @ 80mph. It left a dime-sized dent & chipped the paint. Body shop said $370 to fix. There are a couple tiny chips in the hood also so I guess Ill get a C/F hood.

Of course, I have several chips by the back doors/fenderwell. I just saw the clear protectors in another thread but Ill have to get the chips fixed first.

My EVO RS came with a scratch on the roof that I didn't notice until a couple of days after I took delivery. I bought the car from a dealership that is a long drive from my house. They said they would take a look at the scratch and see what they could do about it. But, I have already installed the JIC/Mueller suspension and have race number decals on the rear side windows that I want to leave on the car for my next two track events in November, so I'm not in any hurry to take it to the dealer.

It will probably get a little banged up on the racetrack anyway, so who cares? An EVO is a purpose-built machine that is meant for driving, not polishing. Don't be a puzzy. A little ding on this car is meaningless.

I agree with this... I never wash my car. It's always dirty as hell, but dings and scratches annoy me no end, especially ones caused by other peoples' carelessness, like having a door slammed into the side of your car... Stone chips (which is all I have so far on this car) aren't so bad since they can't be helped.

No dings or scratches yet, but lots of rock chips. Broke my heart at first, and I only drive an OZ, couldnt imagine if I had an EVO (which will be someday)
