rabbit killed my bumper lip

So, I'm driving threw New Mexico last night and a jackrabbit runs across the road. Now, I'm originally from the southeast, and I have no idea how or why a rabbit would ever get so big (I'm used to the fuzzy little cottontails). It reminds me of "The Search for the Holy Grail" or something...ANYWAY

I ended up having the rabbit bounce off the left part of my bumper. The result was the pulling away of the lower lip from the main bumper. I was able to kinda of pry it back in place, and there doesn't appear to be any REAL damage (some minor scratches and whatnot), but it's not quite fitting right. I haven't taken the time to really crawl up under it today (kinda tired as I didn't get to bed until 5AM and...well, just haven't gotten to it yet). I was curious about any feedback from people that have had to pull bumpers off or have had a similar experience and any simple advice on getting this attached properly again. Thanks in advance, and watch out for those huge jackrabbits...

My lower lip pulled off of my car when some jackass ran me off the road and I hit a curb. In addition to scratching the paint off the bumper, it tore off the screw anchors from the lip itself. I was able to recover most of the broken pieces from the side of the road and glued the screw anchors back on with model glue. So far the glue is working great and the lip is secure and straight on the car. The only ugly part is the big scratch on my bumper.

Thanks naucrx, that sounds about like what I saw when I was popping it back in place. I'll have to pull it back off and take a look. Did you remove the entire lip to do this, or not (or did that entire lip come off in your situation)?

I squashed a rabbit once in my 4x4 truck. Felt kinda bad. Made sure not to mention to the g/f she was a major animal lover and it was afterall an accident. Can't say I have ever seen a jack rabbit. Did see a gigantic iguana walking across the street once. Must have been someone's pet.

Look at it this way. It's the perfect excuse to buy an aftermarket lip spoiler or bumper. The car HAS to look "pretty" at ALL times, right??

I was cutting across the desert on my Ninja at night at about 140 when I saw something at the side of the road running. It froze and sat up and I swear I've seen 2 year-old kids that were shorter. I had a set of those 'animal warning device' thingies on the bottom of my farring. They really work if you keep them clean, unlike my shorts after that. Damn, those desert jacks can get big!

plokivos - You're right about the brakes. Brakes saved me from the 2nd rabbit...dog...whatever they are, but couldn't help me with that one.

BMan - I've had a couple scares on my bikes in the past, most recently a ZX-9R...one of the reasons I decided I needed to rid myself of it. I have a hard time keeping that anywhere near the speed limit and at 100+, all that stuff is really spooky on a bike.
