SCCA moved the Evo/Sti out of the Corvette/Viper/GT3 T1 class to the Camaro/Mustang/Srt-4/350Z T2 class. The M3 was moved with it. Sounds like fun.

Is it official? We were just talking about this in the motorsports thread. I didn't know any firm decision had been made. If this is so, can you please post a link to a thread where we can see this information. Thanks.

 

I don't think it's official, I just got my copy of FastTrack and it's not in there.

 

Well given the horsepower of the new corvette's I can see why, but still. Now the Evo/Sti/M3 are gonna dominate T2.

 

uh... vettes and camaro z28s share the same engine.....

Don't matter, the Z28's are pigs relative to the vette with regards to handling....

 

Sorry for sounding ignorant but I have much to learn about the SCCA classes. These are both under stock A class, correct? or are you saying that it got dropped to stock B???

We're talking Track racing here, not AutoX. What we're referring to is the Touring classes, T1 being corvettes/Porsches, etc and T2 being WRX, Camaro, SRT-4, etc.

kinda feels like our Evo got demoted however it will totally kick *** in T2

 

The Evo wasn't competitive in T1, so no one was running them there. It will be super competitvie in T2. I would expect restrictor plates, added weight, etc.
