Turbos dont need to be broken in. I have asked garret and many other turbo vendors. No break in time for the turbooo.

Most aftermarket turbos won't require a break in period, but that is because they are already ready to go out of the box. If for nothing else, I would still take it easy and "break in" the car, or at least "break in" yourself as you learn what the car can do.

There's no need to rush this thing to redline and cause the possibility of premature wear and tear. When an engine is new, there are small imperfections that self clear as the engine turns. They get lodged in the oil and that is why it is recommended that you change your oil after the first few hundred miles. You don't want those metal shavings to be pumped through your turbo, which spins at upwards of 90,000 RPM. That would pretty much be like the "extrude honing" process.

From: Nor Cal 4 now!
i changed the oil (syn) at 500 miles and from there followed the manual exactly. the factory knows better than anyone how to break in this car. If there were a better way they'd tell ya! It's not rocket science although as you can read, everyone does their own thing. Enjoy!

Yeah, the factory knows best. . . .the bean-counters that is. The decision on how to "break-in" a car via factory specs is an accountant's decision, not an engineer's. That's why they recommened what they do.
