It has a wiper on the rear window.? Pic looks alittle too photoshopped. the max weight listed = 1410kg which is 3100lbs... hopefully we get the lighter versions.

Pics sure do look photoshopped, but still this is as concrete and believable as I think we've seen to date. I wouldn't be surprised if this car is the one Euro and Asia are getting, but I would be more than surprised if this is the car we're going to get. I'd pay $40k for the car described on that site

Great find RA29!

Pricing released in January 2003 .... hmmmm

Note the 55L fuel tank and still retains the Super AYC. Yippee! Also note that next to the spec saying Evolution logo on trunk lid it states "* abolished numbering." More and more signs that the US vehicle will be similar though probably not the same.

Japanvehicles had the real JDM Sti specs before Subaru announced them so I do believe them on the JDM Evo 8 specs. Nice.

Nice info!! It makes me to want to believe in it!!

Few comments tough...

Larger fuel tank is a definite must for the US market! I pointed out a while back that AYC was not in the line of the tank and I am glad that was correct!

Pictures actually (even tough, they did the same trick that I do when chop the picture - lowered resolution) do look quite like those that we have seen so far and first look at them doesn't point to the chopped part! I did several of those conversions from EVO 7 to EVO 8 and most of the details are where they need to be! If they are chopped picture, someone did a thorough job on them! I still believe that they are real!

Optional drivetrain components are a bit scary, since that mean that we could easily get any of the presented combinations.

So, we still get to wait a bit longer and we will soon know for sure. I for one am still an optimist about the US specs and I will keep it that way!

Either way have a or two!!

And happy Thanksgiving too!!

Well, it seems ACD will be on both the versions, so I'd be happy with ACD and a rear mechanical. I wouldn't complain if there were no AYC, I think the ACD is more important. I would like that 6 speed, however. Hmm, it seems (cross fingers) that our version may be pretty close to the j-spec version.

Yeah the VII GSR model has a rear wiper. I noticed the weight stats as well, +10kg over the previous Evo VII GSR. I was kind of hoping they would reduce the weight on the car rather than increase it. Blah. It's like they had to lighten the engine, wing, wheels and LSD to compensate for the extra weight of that 6M tranny and extra front bodywork. (I think that grill centerpiece must add 5kg... get ridda that thing! )

It seems like this model is coming in RHD only at launch too, which points towards us receiving an Evo other than the one described in those specs.

Great find too... it really looks like the Real Thing.
