Any word on EI Lancers?
Senior Info = Void ?
Sounds like the same guy. About the only other person that has spent so much time on the DOT site..
People that dont understand how long the process of legalization is.
They dont understand its not just DOT its EPA - and also if the car is for California then more time- stuff like the OBD II system on the Evo VII is missing some components.

I understand some parts need to be fitted to the imported Evos to make them legal to drive on US streets. Why does everybody doubt so much that this has been done?
As for the label that Senor Info mentions, assuming he is right about that label having to be on the car, that would surely be easy to check by one of our US Evo 7 driving friends? Not that they would come and brag about such a label not being present on their cars, obviously...

The mere fact that no one has posted a picture or proof that their car is legal would lead me to believe that they really are not.
I think some of the USA rules are pretty stupid, but if they were not so strict some dip**** would import something, then sue everyone because it was not crash worthy

they can't impound your car and destroy it because its not street legal, all they can do is take away the registration on it and the plates, it would still be legal to own it as a race car, its not like its illegal to own a car that isn't street legal, you just can't drive it on the street

The requirements to have an imported "race car" are a lot more strict than you might think. You can just put an unmodified Evo 7 onto a boat and way "Oh, but it's only a race car!" Nevermind the lack of roll cage, fire suppression, racing harnesses, and the presence of a 6 disc CD changer and air conditioning...
To paraphrase the import rules "If the car can not be modified to comply with Federal standards after xx days, it must be exported or destroyed"
