Necessary to have new injectors Machined and Flow Matched?

IM looking to upgrade my injectors, and im curious if its necessary to have them flow matched and/or machined first before installing them? Should they flow evenly when just buying them from a vendor or do I need to prep them in some way?

when you buy injectors from a company, they should already be flow matched and impedence matched...All you should have to do its take off the fuel rail and pop em in... That's how ive been doing it at least on 2G's.

Do i need to disconnect the fuel pump and any fuses to crank the fuel out of the rail before replacement? And what is the point of one getting say 650cc injectors machined and flowmatched to begin with like i have seen..

I am not sure about disconnecting the fuel pump on an Evo...on my 2G, i just disconnected the battery. I'll let someone else take over your question that would know better than I do. The point of having the injectors machined is so they fit in the rail properly without leaking or anything else. Flowmatching is obvious, if each injector flows differently then problems could arise with some cylinders being lean/rich etc.

Sorry for the newb question, but do you have to anything to the ECU and/or Standalone (if you have one) if you upgrade to larger injectors?

Yes.. if u upgrade you need some sort of management to compensate, can be done with a simple flash as well..
