does that -13 degrees apply to the outside temp or the temp of the center diff, because the center diff will never reach -13 degrees because of the moving parts creating heat. But if it's for the outside temp. that would suck for evo owners up north not having awd advantage in snow and ice.

It says "When the ambient temperature is -13F or lower all 3 indicators will illuminate and the acd system will not operate."

I wanted people to be aware of this 05 addition and I posted in the "Evo Black Box" thread but its not getting much attention. The thread is old and basically says the 03's dont have one but I didnt want to start a new thread. I would be nice if someone knew how to remove it!

All General motors vehicles have utilized them since 2000

its legal.
but i believe law enforcement still needs a warrant to be able to access the data on one to be used in court.

I just went to the dealer for my P0300 code. They reflashed my ECU as part of Mitsus "fix". When my car was finished the service manager said he didn't know what caused the code but that the "Event Log" showed I was going 80 when it happened. I guess the question is, what is an event? (other than SES codes, airbags going off?) and what is logged (obviosly speed, throttle position, brake status?)

Thanks for the info Hank. That's pretty strange but believable. I wonder if the temperature limit is even higher for the S-AYC (if we were to actually get it)?

Now thats terrifying that they can grab that kind of info. Id hate to think what they would say if it threw a code while doing a quick run up to 150
